Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
-
The submission text file is in Microsoft Word or Pages. The manuscript should be a separate file from the title page. Be sure your manuscript is anonymized to ensure the double-blind review process.

Should you cite your previous works in-text, be sure to anonymize that, too. - Where available, URLs and DOIs for the references have been provided.
- The text is double-spaced; and uses a 12-point Times New Roman font; and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and referencing requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
-
UK English or USA English are acceptable as long as used consistently. If English is not the primary writing language of the author(s), we recommend that you use a professional translator/editor prior to submitting your manuscript. However, to ensure this is not a barrier to submissions, the reviewers will work with the author(s).
-
We acknowledge that not all projects require ethical approval from an academic institution. But for projects where ethics approval was required, authors have submitted a copy of the ethics approval document with their submission.
- Please include a separate title page that identifies all authors, contact information, institutions, any conflicting interests and funding sources, and OrCiD URLs. The title page should also include 6-10 keywords, a total word count, and should identify what citation style is being used.
- Any permission(s) from copyright holders for any illustrations, tables, figures, or artwork is attached.
- Copyright for published articles are retained by the author(s) under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) license.
- You permit DCIP to upload your manuscript through a plagiarism check software such as TurnItIn or Grammarly.
